Ski and See New Zealand

Quite possibly the most beautiful country in the world

DATE: August 6th to 22nd, 2010.

COST: $3000 per person, based on double occupancy and current air fares and exchange rates.  (As of 12-4-2009, the exchange rate is 1-.75 in our favor)

Reservation Deadline: ASAP.  There are limited seats.  Deposit of $500 will save you a seat.  (checks will not be cashed until we need to pay for the trip)  Final payment will be due by May 15^th 2010.  Make sure your passport is in order.

Here’s the schedule so far:

Everyday: Breakfast will be served every morning. (except day of arrival)

Day 1 :  Meet our driver and tour the city of Christchurch,  Check into our rooms and get settled.  Dinner at the Elms Hotel

Day 2 :  Ski Mt. Hutt.  Dinner is your own arrangement.

Day 3 :  Ski Mt. Hutt   Dinner and Hangi/concert.

Day 4 :  Travel to Lake Wanaka and transfer to the Edgewater Resort for 4 nights.  Dinner at the Edgewater Resort.

Day 5 :  Ski Treble Cone or Cardrona.  Dinner is on your own arrangements.

Day 6  :  Ski Treble Cone or Cardrona  Dinner at the Relishes Restaurant.

Day 7 :  Ski Treble Cone or Cardrona.  Dinner is on your own arrangements.

Day 8 :  Travel to Queenstown and transfer to the A Line Hotel for 6 nights.  Dinner at the A Line Hotel.

Day 9 :  Ski Coronet Peak or The Remarkables.  Dinner on your own arrangements.

Day 10 :  Ski Coronet Peak or The Remarkables.  Dinner at the Skyline Restaurant.  (includes gondola ride)

Day 11 :  Ski  or take a day off and visit the town and etc.  Dinner own arrangements.

Day 12 :  Travel to Milford Sound for scenic cruise and buffet lunch aboard the ship, return to Queenstown for dinner at Roaring Megs Restaurant.   ( this trip takes the entire day.)

Day 13 :  Ski or possibly try a day of Golf or whatever suits your fancy.  Dinner at Walter Peak Station.  (includes Steamship ride over and back on the T.S.S. Earnslaw)

Day 14:  Travel to Christchurch and transfer to Elms Hotel.  Fairwell dinner at The Manor. (this is a very nice dinner)

Day 15 :  Transfer to Christchurch Airport for departure from New Zealand. ( You will arrive home the same day you leave.)

Quick summary of what is included in the trip cost:

·         14 nights hotel accommodations

·         14 hotel cooked breakfasts

·         3 hotel dinners, and 6 special dinners (9 included dinners total.)

·         Ground transportation to the scheduled events

·         Your air fare from LAX to CHC and the return to LAX.  Note: You will need a current passport for August 2010

·         Scenic cruise of Milford Sound with buffet lunch included.

Lift passes are not included in the price of the trip to allow for weather changes and personal preferences.  ( lift passes will be about $50 or a little more for Adults.  You can check the prices on their web sites.)

Everything on the schedule is not cast in stone.  The weather can change things, or everyone may decided they would like to go sightseeing,  and when this happens we still have our coach to take us where we want to go as a group, or you are welcome to strike out on your own. 

Non skiers/boarders are welcome!  Sightseeing is strongly encouraged (at your own expense and arrangements.)

At the time of this printing (December 4^th 2009) we are waiting for the airlines to give us a firm price for the airfares.  They should have the price available by the end of February.  I estimate the package to be $3000 US.  (depends on rate of exchange and air fares)
