KELLY CANYON SKI HUT
6000 vistors since 1993!
Check out the new parking lot...
Photo at left shows the new parking area at the "Y" above Kelly Canyon. Also new this year will be a vault-type outhouse to be constructed in October.
The Idaho Falls Ski Club has a warming hut set up about 2.2 miles from the end of the road at Kelly Canyon. The tent is open to the public. It is usually installed near then middle of December and taken down the Middle of March. Day use is unrestricted but in order not to have conflicts at night you must call Glen Hayes to reserve it for an overnight stay. His phone number is 523-6839. The tent makes an excellent lunch stop for day use and an exciting but confortable overnight outing. Pictures from the ouside and from the inside are shown. Trail maps are located at the beginning of the trail and at the signing box. We encourage a minimum donation of $1 per skier, per day to help us with the cost of setting up and taking down the huts as well as upkeep and continued repairs and upgrades of equipment (see photos below).
