Here is your chance to skin and ski 25 Short, the most accessible backcountry skiing in Grand Teton Park. Named for its 9975 ft. elevation, 25 Short is a long (3000 vertical), constant climb one mile out of the Taggart Lake parking lot. The skiing down is pretty mild by Grand Teton Park standards but it is a long, tough skin to the top. If you don’t have some skinning experience, this trip is not recommended. The scenery is fantastic when the weather cooperates.
Snacks and beverages will be provided at the end of the tour.
For your safety, transceiver, shovel, and probe are required. Group size will be limited. Coordinator may cancel the trip depending on avalanche conditions.
This is a carpool day trip. We’ll meet at the Yellowstone Square parking lot on the north side of East Anderson (across East Anderson from Fred Meyers) at 6:30 am for a 6:45 am departure.
25 Short is a new trip this season. If you haven’t tried backcountry in ‘The Park”, this is your chance!
