Well, folks, this is going to be another great trip. This time we are going to Chamonix in a little valley on the borders of France, Italy, and Switzerland at the foot of the spectacular Mont Blanc range with its many glaciers and beautiful views. The trip will be limited so early reservations are an absolute must.
The town of Chamonix is super-lively and easily accessible to other parts of Europe for non-skiers. There is an abundance of shopping, cafes, pubs and exceptional nightlife that will keep you running—and be sure to bring your appetite, the food is incredible!
Trip cost includes the Europe airfare from Idaho Falls, all airport and air taxes, plus the land-only package. The land-only package includes ground transportation, and seven nights lodging with breakfast and dinner daily. Optional day trips and other activities can also be arranged for those that don’t want to ski every day. Mountain Guides are also available to help you explore this vast area.
For those flying from Idaho Falls, we will be leaving early on Friday, February 27th, and will return late on Saturday, march 7th. We will be staying at the 3*** Hotel Alpina , an imposing piece of contemporary architecture conceived to have a very relaxed atmosphere yet hold within its walls all the services necessary for its exacting clientele. Wireless ADSL internet is also available in the hotel as is ski rental and a health salon (sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi, massages) for those that just want to relax.. Shuttle bus service to the slopes is just a short walk away. Without a doubt the new multi functional 7th floor panoramic restaurant ‘Le Vista‘, facing the Mont-Blanc massif, will leave lasting memories as much for its cuisine as for its magical views. Lift tickets are not included in this price, but can be purchased locally and cost about the same as in the U.S. If space is reserved early enough, we can make arrangements for you to extend your stay for minimal additional cost.
If you are interested or have questions, please call us at 208 522-2038 or e-mail us at IFSCtrip@gmail.com. Last year this trip filled early and the number on the trip is limited so these dates are important: For the first 42 people, $500 per person assures a spot on the trip with an additional $500 due on Monday, September 29 and the complete balance due by December 8, 2009. Send your check made out to the Idaho Falls Ski Club (or IFSC, if you prefer) along with your IFSC member number to us at 4747 Torrey Pines, Idaho Falls, ID 83404. (Also see www.IfSkiClub.com)
