ALPINE TRIPS — GENERAL INFORMATION

CORB1185.JPGThe Idaho Falls Ski Club sponsors many wonderful ski and snowboard trips, and instructional weekends.  We invite you to take a look at the description pages for each individual trip.

What do you mean "sponsored?"  Each trip is advertised and organized by an experienced Idaho Falls Ski Club trip coordinator.  She or he arranges transportation, drinks & snacks and often arranges reduced rates for lift tickets and lodging, all to make each trip enjoyable and affordable for our members.

What is meant by "Subsidized" trips?  The club subsidizes each trip by contributing funds to the cost of the lift ticket, transportation, lodging and lessons.  The subsidy reduces the overall cost of the trip to the member.  Our subsidy is possible through income from the yearly ski sale and membership fees.

Who can participate?  Any member.  Provide your membership number and name to the trip coordinator and you are qualified!  Youths under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult, and provide a liability release form if no parent is present.  (Please make these arrangements with the trip coordinator for youths without an accompanying parent.)  252972.JPGClick here for Release Form for minors to travel without parent

If you are an adult under the age of 21, you will be required to sign a Code of Conduct, agreeing not to partake in consuming alcohol or drugs during the trip, and provide the completed form to the trip coordinator at the time of making your reservation.  Click here for Code of Conduct Form

How do I sign up?  Contact the trip coordinator and submit payment.  Only fully paid reservations will be honored once the trip deadline is met.  Many of the trips fill up early and contacting the coordinator early is advised.

Do all the trips provide transportation?  No.  Some trips use car pools and private transportation, while others offer commercial passenger bus, or plane transportation.

Do all the trips provide arrangements for lessons?  No.  Some trips, listed as "Instructionals" do offer great arrangements for discounted and subsidized group lessons.  (If you are interested in lessons at non-instructional trips, please make arrangements through the ski area.)

How are the trips priced?  By having a large ski club and consistant and successful previous trips, we are able to secure discounts for many parts of the trips.  We pass along all of the savings to our participanting members.  Some trips, like the European trips, may not include the price of lift tickets.  This is to allow for flexibility in sight seeing and for non-skiing members to participate.  Each trip is individually designed and operated by an experienced Trip Coordinator, who volunteers to manage that trip.

100764.JPGAre all trips all inclusive in costs?  No.  While many trips will provide several meals, lift tickets, lodging, transportation, and even the tip for the bus driver, there may be some expenses you will need to cover yourself.  Each trip description will list the items covered in the cost.  (See Alpine Trips and Nordic Trips for further information)

Sounds great!  How do I join or get started?  Joining the club is easy.  You may join online or join at many Idaho Falls locations.  You also may join at the yearly Ski & Snowboard Sale and Festival
